Harassment by Landlord
Approximately 16 months ago I agreed to rent a mobile home that was owned by a co-worker, whom I supervise. The agreement was verbal and I was never provided a written lease agreement nor was there any arrangements made with regard to the lease/purchase option. In August of this year, I gave notice that I would be moving, yet agreed to pay rent through October 31, 2003 & vacated August 27, 2003. Today I received an email at my work email address in which they have threatened to file an eviction notice & and mail details regarding my conduct as a tenant to the Mayor and City Council. The details include, NSF checks, damages to the property, late payments, property neglect & a claim that I have harassed her husband, my employee, on the job.She has also threatened to forward specifics about the ”harassment” her husband has come under to the Mayor and City Council. What can I do and are their laws to protect the Tenant from Landlord harassment, as well as the possibility of slanderous remarks made public due to open records and or her decision to forward to the Mayor and City Council?

Thank you.

automobile purchase, repossesion attempt
Hi, basically i purchased a used truck, and sold it already. The bill of sale states this:
party A(seller) sold the truck to party B(me) on this day for X.XX amount. Payments of X.XX monthly or sooner. Will recieve title. Then we each signed the bottom.

Party A is now saying that because i am late on payments and even though the truck is gone i owe her X.XX amount. My question is since she gave me the pink slip upon deposit and not after payoff, do i have to pay her anything after the day she gave me the pinkslip?

i sold my car and the person wants to return it for a refund?
I sold my 1994 mustang to a lady, and I explained to the best of my knowledge all the flaws of the vehicle. I was selling the car for $2000.00, but sold it for $1800.00. She gave me $1600.00, and signed a promise to pay within 2 weeks. She also signed a bill of sale stating she understands the flaws of the car and understands the car is being sold AS-IS. 3 days later, she phones me and threatens to take me to small claims court if I don’t return her money and take my car back. I told her legally I don’t have to and the next day I get a small claims filed against me stating that I owe her $1600.00 that was due on the date prior and that it was for merchandise. I filed a counter-claim for the amount that she still owes me, but i’m having problems getting her served. My question is, does she have a leg to stand on in court? Because last time I checked, if a private party sells their car AS-IS and that other party signs a paper agreeing, that car is no longer the sellers problem. Is this correct? What should I do to be better prepared? And should I hire an attorney?

I had recently bought a car, & like a moron, I did not get a receipt.

I had recently bought a car, & like a moron, I did not get a receipt. This, of course, led to issues. I went to the DMV to get the car put in my name, & was informed that the previous owner never filled out the bill of sale or got a smog check. When I called her on this matter, she informed me that the car was NOT in her name and she did not know the person who owned it before her. Not only that, she told me that she spent the money already. At this point, I just want to return the car & get my money back. I do not have a receipt, but I do have witnesses to both the sale & to her admitting that she sold the car to me. What can I do?
