Commercial Tenant wants to stay 90 days longer than Landlord wants
Moving a dental practice to a new facility. We need to stay in the current space 90-120 days longer than the Landlord wants. We have been in the space for about 20 years, but have been on a month to month lease for about 1 year. If we can not work out an arrangement with the Landlord (ie offering more rent, begging, etc) is there any legal recourse that we have or any legal action we can take in order to gain the extra 3-4 months that we need to stay in the space.

In the event that you do not vacate. He would have to evict you. This process could take some time to accomplish. I don’t know if you could get 90 days out of the process but its possible. On the other hand, if he has a tenant that he loses because you do not leave you could be liable in the end. My advise is to try and make te landlord happy.
