Power of Attorney and Executor of Will
My 75 year old uncle would like for me to handle his affairs if he becomes unable to because of his health. He is in failing health now and would like this taken care of before he dies.
A power of attorney was drawn up with myself having the power of attorney.
He believes this not only gives me power to act as he would while he is still alive, but to settle his estate upon his death.
I have been told by others that the power of attorney will expire upon his death, at which time I will have no say as to his estate.
He has no surviving spouse and has 1 son whom he no longer talks to. His wishes are to leave his son $1 upon his death and to leave me the balance of his estate.
My question is, will the power of attorney expire upon his death.
When he makes a will out can he legally leave me
his entire estate with the exception of $1

My half brother got power of attorney for my father.

My half brother got power of attorney for my father. My mother died two years ago and my father died this week. My father had alzheimer. I recently found out my half brother who I just met two years ago at my mothers funeral has done a reverse mortage on the home my parents bought. He has taken $150,000 out of the house that was only worth $180.00. My half brother has not worked in several years and his now driving a $40,000 car and his wife relatives are now living in the home I grew up in. What do I do, PLEASE HELP.

info on elder estate
I have a friend who has property in trust to him from his girlfriend of 25 yrs . He forgot what will happen to her if he dies first, he has asked me to become her guardian and wants to give me power of attorney to take care of her in case something happens to him. She has no family. He also wants to give me her house if she dies . iI am have no idea if this is going to be a problem . He is 87 and in very good health and as sharp as a tack . She is frail and has mild dementia . He has a power of attorney over the entire estate . I am just a friend . I dont want any problems. there is enough money to maintain her home and have a 24 hour nurse to care for her, So what is it I will need to help her maintain her ability to keep her in her home . and since I gave my word to help them both what do I need to do to keep my word and assist them both. He has a family if she passes on and they will care for him . It is her that he is worried about. I don’t like breaking my word . But I am confused on what I need to do. There re no relitives for her and it is very sad.
