What Status is This Perosn Who Has Been Living With Me/
A man has been living in my Angeles, CA. Condo with me for over 5 years & has never paid any rent, other than occasioanlly cleaning the condo, washing clothes, and preparing meals. He has never signed any rental or lease agreement with me. I told him to move out since he is not a renter but has only been a guest. He will not leave. What are my rights? What are his rights?

You would have a tenancy at will and a 30 day notice would have to be served prior to an eviction being filed. Please contact us if you have any questions.

While I agree that this is a tenant at will, my reading of the law is that a 60 day notice is required, since the period involved is over 12 months.
