Am I getting riped off
My wife and I bought a house on a contract for deed. The person that set up the deal is a ”middle man” between the home owner and me.Things were ok untill my wife and i found out that the ”middle man” is in jail for two felony counts of fraud. My wife and I contacted the home owner and was in the prosses of cutting the middle guy out. He has two of my titles and 2000 dollars that was to go for a down payment. Two weeks after this all took place the home owner passed away. The kids of the owner say that they will honer any agreement that the dad and i have and dont want anything to do with the middle guy. Am I entitled to my money and titles back from the middle guy? Also the middle guy was charging me $89 per month for insurance and taxes. When talking to the children, they told me that their father had paid the taxes and insurance a year in advance so the middle guy is just taking the money and puting it in his pocket. Is that some kind of theft, and can i file any charges?

This BB is for general legal questions. There is no way to make a complete answer without an attorney examining all of the relevant documents. It is unclear what role the middle man played, whether he was in the chain if title, had an ownership interest — or what. Talk to an attorney.
