Small business suit
I am in the middle of sueing to gain control and ownership of a business. My name is on the rental lease of the business along with those that I am sueing. The defendants have agreed to handing over the business due to my suit against them but have been defiant in providing business documents such as tax returns and other financial statements. I have also been trying to contact the landlord of the building in where the business resides to inform him of the situation and that I should be the main contact and I need to know how to pay the rent. However he has yet to reply and now the defendents state that they have been evicted from the business. I’m left in a situation in where I am unable to even access the business due to the eviction and the landlord is unresponsive. what can I do?

I would ask the lawyer who is handling your lawsuit against them.

If you haven’t been able to effectively handle and resolve this on your own, no ‘magic’ phrase or tidbit of advice is going to change that. Sounds like there ‘is’ no more business, post-eviction, unless it can be moved to a new location. It’s long past time to get legal advice and help from an attorney who has reviewed all the facts and issues with you. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so, if the case is in SoCal.
