when a divorce is final
If you ammend a divorce to put in a real estate part after the original is signed because the other attorney did not draw up a land contract that he was supposed to do and it was two years later and you do not have a lawyer and the divorce was amended, which date does the OPM use for the QDRO? The other lawyer says that the date two years later will be used even though nothing concerning the equation or anything to do with the retirement was affected. Also they are trying to put in things such as a disability clause, death clause and a few other things. Can they do this? Thank you

Am I getting riped off
My wife and I bought a house on a contract for deed. The person that set up the deal is a ”middle man” between the home owner and me.Things were ok untill my wife and i found out that the ”middle man” is in jail for two felony counts of fraud. My wife and I contacted the home owner and was in the prosses of cutting the middle guy out. He has two of my titles and 2000 dollars that was to go for a down payment. Two weeks after this all took place the home owner passed away. The kids of the owner say that they will honer any agreement that the dad and i have and dont want anything to do with the middle guy. Am I entitled to my money and titles back from the middle guy? Also the middle guy was charging me $89 per month for insurance and taxes. When talking to the children, they told me that their father had paid the taxes and insurance a year in advance so the middle guy is just taking the money and puting it in his pocket. Is that some kind of theft, and can i file any charges?

Servicemember’s Civil Rights Act does not apply
In a recent court case for a hearing to stay a judge ordered a defendent who was not present, but was represented by someone with a general power of attorney, to pay temporary spousal support. The defendent is still married to the plantiff. The defendent was the one who filed for divorce. The judge stated the defendent who is deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, judge had signed affidavit from unit commander, is not protected under the Servicemember’s Civil Rights Act because he is the one who filed for divorce. He has now been ordered to pay. The military states that while the couple is still married he has only to pay a certain amount for the home that the military pays to him. Is the judge allowed to do this and why?
