What can I do after a default judgement has been entered against me?

What can I do after a default judgement has been entered against me?
The property I live in was sold, I was given a thirty day notice to quit by the new owner. Unfortunately, I am unable to move because I am unemployed. After receiving the ”Notice of Unlawful Detainer FILING”, I went to the courthouse and requested more information, I was told to wait for the Court Summons. The landlord never served me with the Court Summons and a default judgement was entered against me. I am certain the landlord has taken such actions, not only, because he sold the property but also because I had to call a city inspector in order to have repairs made to my apartment. Clearly it is retaliation. I am certain that if I had presented my case to the judge he/she would have ruled in my favor. I think that my only option at this time is to file a motion to set aside default judgement, can you please tell me if this is true? and, how to file said motion? or, do I have other alternatives? Plus…the proof of service document is signed on July but it states that the summons was mailed to me in August.
Please help me!

Illegal apartment
I received a notice to quit because my landlady rented to me illegally. I will not be moving within the time she gave me. I am sure her lawyer will go to court to have the judge order me out. Am I by law able to be compensated for her wrong doing?
(renting out illegally) not compensation as far as greed, but compensation as far as moving expenses, help with first, last or security deposit for the next apartment, especially where I am a single mother of 2 young girls and am having a hard time as is financially.

Thirty Notice To Quit
I been living in this apartment for over 8+ years,paid the rent ontime every month.Recently I received a Notice To Quit and then I called the landlord to find out why and he said because theres too many people living in that aprtment.I asked him how many are there in my apartment and he said 4.the apartment is a 2 bedroom with husband and a wife and 2 kids living in there.now how come he never said anything before but right now??what should I do?

my ex-husband co-signed for my apt then got me evicted on purpose. he got jealous and paid rent late. now i have an eviction on my credit but he doesnt..he wasnt even listed on any of the eviction notices..He is the cosigner so doesnt that make him just as liable? all parties in the lease should be listed on the notice to quit right? He wasnt. How can he cosign, pay the rent late, get me evicted, ruin my credit and walk away without a scratch? The landlord served the notice, I said Ill have rent friday, she said okay but she had to give notice its standard procedure, I assumed she meant it was okay to pay friday, I paid friday, got letter from lawyer saying eviction would proceed, I asked how to avoid eviction on my credit, was told by landlord and her atty if out before sheriff came theyd dismiss the charges i asked how long i had to get out they both said they didnt know. I was out before the sheriff came and then they say Oh you should have been out last week and they filed the judgement against me anyway. I was out on the 29th of June. What are my options? I need this off my record because I didnt do anything and did everything they told me and they still filed charges….can I bring my ex and landlord to court? Pls help
