automobile purchase, repossesion attempt
Hi, basically i purchased a used truck, and sold it already. The bill of sale states this:
party A(seller) sold the truck to party B(me) on this day for X.XX amount. Payments of X.XX monthly or sooner. Will recieve title. Then we each signed the bottom.

Party A is now saying that because i am late on payments and even though the truck is gone i owe her X.XX amount. My question is since she gave me the pink slip upon deposit and not after payoff, do i have to pay her anything after the day she gave me the pinkslip?

Bill of sale has wrong model year and vin number, can the vehicle be returned?
I purchased a used vehicle that I’m sure the owner was aware of several problems that were not apparent at first to me and I want to retun the vehicle. The only way I can see being able to do this is that the bill of sale has the wrong model year, and the vin # is entered incorrectly (missing one letter). Do I have any leverage in asking to return this vehicle, or am I stuck with it? Thanks!

Hello I purchased a 1990 Nissan 240sx from a private seller.

Hello I purchased a 1990 Nissan 240sx from a private seller. As I was driving home on the purchase date the vehicle broke down on the freeway and I had to be towed. I had a mechanic take a look at it and said that the engine was blown and that it was a bad engine from the start. I called them back that same night and the following day. The craigslist posting said that the engine had just been rebuilt. I called the previous owners back and they said that they would not return my money back. The posting shows a different shift knob than the one that the car came with so if they are willing to change that then maybe they messed with the engine parts in order to get as much back from the car as possible. I have the pink slip signed by the previous owner but not from me and proof of all papers. The only thing he has is the attached piece that came with the pink slip and we did not do a bill of sale. Can I sue for my money back?

promissory note and bill of sale
If I have a promissory note that specifies an amount due of $50,000 but equal payments in the amount of $500.00 due on a specific day of the month with 0% interest for one year until the note is paid in full a year from the date of the document, and does not specify a balloon payment, is the promissory note valid for $50,000? Or $6000.00 as the payments would total? Also if the promissory note is in connection with a bill of sale for an automobile and the bill of sale states that the property is free of all claims and offsets of any and all kinds, fee from all encumbrances whatsoever, but there is an outstanding loan against the vehicle that is not assumable, is the bill of sale valid? as title can not be transfered?

I was sold a car that was reported stolen and was arrested
An acquaintance told me about a car for sale and took me to go see it. He introduced me to the seller, I liked the car, seller handwrote bill of sale to me, we signed, I paid $800 cash. He had bill of sale to him from previous owner which matched name on registration, he gave it to me. Seemed legit. 1 month later while driving car, I was pulled over and arrested for stolen car (reported 3 days prior) and poss. of stolen property. My P.D. subpoenaed acquaintance & now I have located the creep who sold car to me. Can’t my PD subpoena him now we have his address and how can I recover the $800 I paid for the car which I no longer have?
