Mutple rents being charged for same apartments.
I have a month to month rental agreement on a small single apartment. I pay $650.00 per month, and have been doing so since I first moved in a year ago. I have just found out that I am the only one being charged this much. Other singles in the apartment complex go for $550.00 per month. The one bedrooms are priced at $650.00 per month. After finding this out I asked the on-site manager if he could either lower my rent to the $550.00, or let me move into a vacant one bedroom and pay the same amount. He said no to both. Is it legal to charge different rents on the same apartment, excluding such factors as section 8 and rent control?

I’m currently in a 1 year term lease that will expire May 31st 2005 (in 2 weeks basically), with 3 other roommates on the lease. I’m planning on moving out before this time, and I have already gave notice to the management of my plans and signed a roommate release form 30 days ahead.
My question is, if my other roommates choose to stay after May 31st, am I legally obligated to find them a replacement roommate or be responsible for month to month rent until I do so? The management indicates that this is the case, indicating that we all signed the original 1 year term lease together, but it seems kind of fishy to me.

I rented a room to a person 2 months ago without signing a contract for a month to month rent. I received $300 desposit. I mentioned that she was not allowed to bring guest over . She told me she was working full time but she was only working 1-2 days only for a few hours. Also when I was at work she was bringing her close relatives and friends to my house to take bath and use the swimming pool in the facility .After 1 month of her staying, I had to sale my property because of an family emergency and need of money. I gave her a 30 days written notice . She asked me if she could stay until the closing of my escrow which was July 14 and then move in to new property with me. She packed her furniture without telling me and rented a big storage box and left it in front of my garage door after she left for 10 days. She finally removed it. she filled a claim of $505 security deposit, herself painting the room without my approval to reimburse her, loss of wage plus court costs. I want to file a claim for her damages caused too . Also for embarasement she caused when I was served at my job.Pls. tell me to what extend can I claim damages?

I forfilled my lease and moved out. My roomates do not qualify without me and are living there month to month. Am i respmonsible for the apartment if i no longer live there and have not signed a new lease?
