Owner sold property, New owner gave us 30 day notice to leave– Is this legal
I have been a tenant in the place I am living for 5 years. The landlord sold the property in Nov. or December. On December 28th I received a notice from the new owner that they were terminating my tenancy and I had to be out on January 31, 2005.

I want to know if I am entitled to 60 days or 30 days? I’m not for sure because the owner sold the property and the new owner said that I am only entitled to 30 days. I was not asked to sign a new rental agreement with the new owners.

Rental agreement.
I signed a rental agreement with the owner of the apt. building that I live in 1995.
The owner who still ownes the property has recently turned it over to a real estate co. to manage. The real estate co. is demanding that I sign a new, harsher agreement with them. I am reluctant to sign the new agreement. Would the original agreement still be in effect, there by releaseing me from signing the new agreement?

As this issue is time sensitive a prompt reply would be greatly appreciated.

We rented an apartment, signing a 3 month lease and paying $2050.00 for first month and deposit, rent being $825.00 a month. We moved in on a Saturday. Around 4 am on Sunday morning the neighbor started playing thier car stereo extremely loud. We thought the husband was drunk because we could hear both male and female voices but could not make out what was being said. After about 30 to 45 min. of music a female comes pounding on our door. She proceeds to yell at us about how we are making too much noise and are waking up her children. She tells us how the walls are paper thin and that she has had problems with everyone that moves in. And that the owner should have told us this since it is the reason no one stays for very long, moving within a couple of months. Then she tells us she knows what we do, that we are drug dealers. We politely get her to go and move back out the next day (Sunday). How do we cancel the rental agreement and get our money back?

My brother is not on my rental agreement. My landlord does not want him on the property. He has threatened to evict me if I do not obtain a restraining order against my brother. I have already asked my brother not to come to my home. He no longer visits me but he still frequently comes to the property to visit other tenants. My landlored has filed an unlawful detainer and served me with a summons and attached is rental agreement he forged. He is trying to say I pay 3500.00 rent when I pay 3k. I filed an answer and attached my bank records but I’m not sure if this will be enough to win against him and his laywer. It is obviously not my signature. We did have a verbal agreement for 3k and 4k deposit and he claims it was a 1400.00 deposit. He also has two payments from me for rent this month because my regular rent check was returned NSF(this was the only time this ever happened) and it was due to the bank holding a check for 5 days. When he got the check back he called asked me to bring the cash so I went to the bank and took the moneyto him. I said he could just rip my check and I apologized. The next day I found out he went back to the bank and cashed the check too. He claims he didn’t do it but his bank record and mine show differently so now he tried to say he gave it back and that is a lie. I filed and answer I wanted to add more detail but I thought I should keep it simple. Oh and last but not least his wife is getting flooded with forclosure letters at our address and he sold her the house a while back. any advice on weather or not I have a snowballs chance in hell of winning, would be greatly appreciated.
