Landlord removal of Landscaping
I have a one year residential lease of a single family home with the option to renew for another year.My Landlord in the sixth month of the lease, without timely notice removed two large shade trees from the property. This action prompted the city to find him in violation of the local code. He was ordered to replace the trees, however these trees were on the southern part of the house and provided shade to the property.There is now two big unsoded holes in the lawn at front and back.Coming home now is like coming home to an eyesore.
The replacement trees will not provide such shade for several years. This has resuled in higher power bills and a substantial change in the appearance of the property both front and lakeside in contrast to the time the lease was signed.
Is my landlord liable for the difference in my power bill and can I receive a rent deduction for the lost of landscaping.

Rental Lease
The building I rent in (2 family house) has been sold. The previous landlord and I hand wrote into lease that the new owner must honor lease. I have not signed a new lease w/new owner. Is my old lease void as the lessor no longer owns the property? Things are not going well with the new tenants upstairs and we may have to leave. Do I have any legal obligations to the current owner? I am assuming that I am now renting month to month w/no lease.

My son is renting an apartment w/ a 1 year lease. Tenants below are smoking and the smell is making my son very sick. Landlord said nothing he can do because it doesn’t state in the lease that you can’t smoke. Landlord told them when they moved in that you can’t smoke. Landlord told me he hopes they burn the place down since it stinks so bad now. Other tenants are complaining of smoke smell too. Can my son get out of his lease early and get his security deposit back? He is allergic to cigarette smoke and has been since he was a baby. Thank you for any help you can give us. Have a blessed day!
