taking former owner to court over contract for deed
Bought 5 unit apt. bldg. cfd. may 1 02. 6,038.00 down old owner kept 2200.00 dam. deposits for total of 8238.00. Asked former owner prior to sale about heating,roof,plumbing,electrical and general condition of build. former owner disclosed buried fuel tank on prop. Had damage to roof due to tornado. Estimate was 800.00 to repair flat roof if underside not rotted. contractor stated that former owner knew of the roofs condition approx 7 years prior to sale but did not disclose to me. contractor agreed to testify in court. several other poor conditions have been found since the sale that were hidden by former owner. Can i ask the court for damages of return of down payment, 3,000.00 for new roof, and all repairs to building that were needed but not disclosed. want to return bldng. to former owner but dont want to lose all our money.

We sold a business contract for deed. The new owner could
not pay her rent for the leased space nor continue making payments to us on her contract. She shut the business down and the owners of the mall she was in will not release the
equipment to us because she owes back rent. Since she still
owed us alot of money for the equipement and because the lease at the mall was with her and not us, technically we still own the equipment and they need to find another way
to collect back rent right?
since we paid for it and not her.

I recently found out that my brother has had my elderly father and grandmother transfer acres of land to him on contract for deeds and never paid him. My father has told me that 160 acres was sold to him for 1K and the signature on the deed is not his. My father is 87 and will not press charges against my brother and my father and he has been living at poverty level for years. I had been living overseas and my father has just told me what has been going on for the past 20 years. I went to the sheriff but they don’t want to get involved. Can I still do something. There is millions of dollars involved.

If I had a contract for deed and was making payments to the bank but have not been able to make the payments since my house burned how long does it take for the property to go back to the owner? I am being billed for property taxes but someone else is paying them. Don’t I have a right to know who is paying the taxes? If someone else is paying the taxes and I am not receivng any statement of past due house payments am I responsible for the up keep of the pro;erty?
