harassment by landlord
in aug. my new landlord took over. immed. he told me no more use of yard, and to get all my things out of the basement. he also said no lease, we’ll discuss it again in jan.i agreed only so as to not start a conflict. he has now asked me to vacate the attic which was always part of my apt. i said no. he sent me a notice to quit. since then, i’ve had vanalism to my car, he refuses to fix thing in need of repair, attempted to break into my home when i’m not there more then once, and has file charges of harassment against me without cause, locked me out of the basement, and stolen my mail. what to do? i can’t afford a lawyer. i have sent messages to his lawyer to tell him to service my furnace, stop trying to enter my home, get me a separate mail box,& to remove the school bus he has parked illegally in the driveway blocking the exit and a common alleyway. the bus is a zoning violation which i went to the town about but they have done nothing. we are quite tenants who have put up with his constant remodeling at all hours of the day and night and feel that the harassment is on his part, trying to get us to move out so he can renovate, split up the home into more apt. units. i need help and don’t know where to go. thanks

Next step for evicting Section 8 tenants?
My section 8 tenants have violated their lease: vandalizing the property, obstructing the driveway with their furniture and possession of 3 animals (1 pit bull, 1 Doberman, 1 cat…not that the breeds of dog matter, but they do make the situation a little more severe). I have issued a ‘Notice to Cease’; they refused to get rid of the dogs, and the vandalism and furniture still exist. I have photos of each of these infractions, taken before and after the Cease deadline occurred. The Section 8 office told me to then ”proceed with the regular eviction process”. I have the forms I need to fill out for the court…is there anything else? Is a Notice to Quit really necessary since I am already filing for the eviction trial? Thanks!

we have a dog, a pitbull, when we moved in we told him what kind of dog we had, and put in on the application, 2 months later he says we have to move out because he is a pitbull. Now he gave us a 3 day notice to quit. on april 2, i told him we would be moving out the following friday, he said that is not good enough and my question is can he kick us out with out the eviction notice from the courts and put us on the street before friday

Notice to Quit / Eviction notice
I am looking for some advice: I recieved a notice to quit from my landlord of the apartment I rent. It states that I have exactly one week to vacate the premises. I pay this landlord by the month. It is two weeks into the month and I have not paid rent to the landlord, but he does have a full months rent in a security deposit. (there is and will be no damage)
This eviction notice was served in hand to me by my landlord and it looks like something he made on his computer. It is signed by him only.
My question is: Since I pay rent by the month, shouldnt I have a months notice to vacate? Also if I dont leave on the date of his homemade notice, and leave instead on the 1st of next month,(when my new apartment is ready) is that illegal? Is his notice legal?
Please help if you have any advice. Thank you.
