Repossession of vehicle
I sold a car and the person put down $1000 on this$9000 car…he hasn’t made a payment in 3 weeks on the car, making excuses, he has a bill of sale but the title is still in my possession, it was signed over to my dealership, i’m a small dealer working out of my home, how do go about repossessing my car?

I have been served with papers to appear in court over an unpaid Chase Manhattan credit card bill from more than 5 years ago. Chase apparently sold the rights to this Visa/Mastercard Credit card bill to Bureaus Investment Group #2, LLC (which is evidenced in a Bill of Sale that was attached to the paperwork served). Now this collection agency is taking me to small claims court for lack of payment.
The civil citation says that I am commanded to appear in court in ten days.
I’ve never heard of a Collection Agency filing a suit against an individual for a situation like this. Shouldn’t I be able to contact Chase Manhattan directly to work out a scheduled payment plan with them and not with the collection agency?
Is this legal? What can I do? In addition, the total includes finance and late charges…should I be commanded to pay all of those fees as well?

I bought a truck in TX, I had a preapproval letter from my Credit Union for the loan. So when I got back home (MO) I was told the title and bill of sale would be sent to the DMV. However, I need the the paperwork to get Property Tax waiver before licensing. It has been 3 weeks, my temp tags are expired and I still don’t have title, etc. I have called the finance guy at the dealer several times, leaving voicemail and talking to him in person, he was supposed to find out when and where it was sent. But still no answer from dealer. Who should I call to get some answers? I have called the DMV here in MO and they are no help, other than they looked and have not received any mail for me. Help… who can I get some action from? Do I have to take the car back?

I have just purchased a vehicle but the previous owner failed to register the car in his name. I attempted to register the car but could not due to the fact that the title was not actually in his name. The previous owner of the vehicle is deceased, and the previous owner does not want to pay to have it transferred since i bought it. I do have the title transfer TAX form that we both signed as a mutual agreement/bill of sale. Is this sufficient?
My concern is A: how can i obtain a title? b: Is he able to take the car from me, or report it stolen?
Is there anything i can do about this.

We are part of religious southern gospel quartet from the Dalas Texas area. We sing for churches and revivals in the state of texas, arkansas, oklahoma. In August of 2001 we purchased a Cargo Craft Trailer from a Car Dealership here in Dallas to transport or sound equipment and cd’s and tracts. We paid cash for it and have a bill of sale from the dealership. On October 28 of this year, we were traveling in New Brunsfels, Tx going to a church in Kirby to sing for a reival and a Comal County Sheriff stopped us and seized out trailer saying that it had been reported stolen. We have had this trailer for 5 and 1/2 years and paid for it when we bought it. Can they do that? Now they tell us we have to attend a hearing in New Brusnfel Tx next Thursday and proove it is ours and maybe they might give it back to us. If this trailer was by some chance reported stolen before we bought it, it had to be have been over 5 years ago, we are non profit organization and need our trailer. Can you advise what we need to do?
