for the last 5 years I have had durable power of attorney for a family friend who is 81 (and has been the hospital for the last month) The problem is his family. They are doing anything and everything they can to sabotage me. The latest thing is having his mail transferred to their home and not giving me his bills so I can pay them. can they legally keep his bills from me? plus another thing is they got a hold of his check book and refuse to give it back, even though I have asked numerous times. what can i do so they will back off and let me continue to do the job I’ve done for over five years.

  1. You need to hire counsel to send a cease and desist letter and if that does not work, you may have to file suit. You should contact the local postmaster about the bills and go to the bank regarding the account.
