Rent Lease Agreement Expired
My lease expired in October, 2006. I called my landlord to ask him to send a renewal for a 2 yr lease and we agreed to a 50$ increase per month. When the renewal arrived, it was for one year only so I called and asked him to send the 2 yr lease instead. He agreed. It is now Feb 07 and, instead of sending the 2 yr renewal as we both agreed, he is now telling me that i have 30 days to move out of the apt as he doesn’t want to renew. Do I have any legal options?

Don’t move out. You need a written 30-day notice where the 30 days is from the beginning of the term (month). Everything of the original lease stays the same, including the rent, but not the term. It is now a month-to-month tenancy.

    Good Luck
