want what is mine
got raided privacy was violated by the police by a search warrent that WAS NOT for me. they took my hunting rifle that was in my locked gun vault and they STILL have in property and they still wont give it back to me untill i produce a bill of sale. that was a gift and the rifle was used for gods sake. i need to know please, what law says a person needs a bill of sale for a used rifle ( not automatic or anything) or else you do not get it back from them , not to mention they WERE NOT suppose to even taken it in the first place if they hadnt gone an illegal search and seizure on my home/place of biz.(that i cannot seem to get a lawyer to take for the life of me by the way). they said untill bill of sale ? no gun. they said that they got told the used rifle was stolen. ??? stolen?? not even. shouldnt they produce proof it is stolen then instead of just KEEPING my rifle?

The reason you haven’t been able to get an attorney is because most attorneys would charge by the hour for a case like this. The rifle is probably not worth enough to make it worth paying someone.

I suggest that you contact the victim’s rights advocate for the county in which this occurred, and see if you can get some help. You can also try the prosecutor’s office. If that doesn’t do it, try your state senator.

It’s possible you may be able to find an attorney if you look under civil rights. Try the attorney directory at wstla.org

    Good luck,

You may also want to try the law practice clinics at Seattle University School of Law, the Univ. of WA law school, and Gonazaga School of Law. Sometimes a clinic will take on a case like this for practice for their students.
