Power of Attorney
Is it true that once the person who made you power of attorney is deceased, that you no longer have rights to their estate to make decisions where everything goes?

  1. Re: Power of Attorney
A power of attorney will terminate on death of the principal, if not terminated sooner by the written terms. Upon death, the probate court has the authority to appoint the personal representative/executor for the estate to administer the estate according to the terms of the will, or if intestate, according to the terms directed by the court.
