Lease Agreement
We signed a rental lease with an apartment complex for a 9 month duration. We broke the lease because we moved out early (with ~4 months remaining). A clause in the lease stated that we would be held financially responsible for the entire worth of the lease until our lease period was completed. If the apartment complex was able to re-lease the apartment to someone else, then we would be responsible for the differential between our monthly lease value and the new lease value (assuming the new lease was less, which it was by ~$150). My question is whether this practice is legal and do we have any recourse against the apartment complex?

Do I have 72 hours to cancel a written lease agreement?
I have been told that I have 72 hours from signing a rental contract to cancel it.
I asked for an additional 24 hours to make my decision but the landlord wanted to know immediatly.
Can I cancel this contract prior to moving in if within 72 hours?

Sueing family member for defaulting on lease agreement
I recently purchased a new home in Winchester, California for a brother of mine. The house is under my name, but we both signed a lease agreement that he would stay in the home and rent from me for at least 3-5 years. Within 3 weeks after moving into the house, he defaulted on the lease agreement and decided he wanted to move out. Do I have any legal rights against him?
Thank you,

Water and sewer charge for my apartment
I live in apartment with anual lease agreement. And this lease expires by this month and so I just received a lease renewal notice from rental office.
The suprise was that the letter says ”Please make a special note that effective with your new lease agreement, you will be responsible for water and sewer charges for your apartment. This will be billed directly to you each month from National Water & Power. You do not need to contact them to set up an account, this will be done for you through our office.” I will appreciate some information about it.

Breaking a Lease
I am going to break a lease with a roommate that has become very abusive physically. I am told that even though I signed a one year lease I will still held responsible for the remainder of my sggreement. I have tried to get my roommate to sign a rental release agreement to no avail. Do I have any rights to break my lease because of the abuse. Also I have been paying for all the utilities that were verbally agreed upon to split 50/50. One last question can I be sued by either roommate or landlord if I move out?
